Offshore Development Center
Larger companies are the ones to stay on the market for a longer period of time. But why does this happen? Just because large companies have something small companies will never have. Not only their budget allows them to do more and more, but their strategy is different, they all “think big”. Thinking big is profitable in business if you really know what it involves. First of all, they take care of that budget, no matter how much they could afford. They only spend money on investments (those types of investments which are going to later return all that money around and even provide a profit) and management or other issues that are really profitable for the company in case.
Let’s consider offshoring. Offshoring isn’t at all outsourcing. Outsourcing always involves a third-party company or individual. In fact, outsourcing is transferring or assigning tasks and/or projects to third-party companies or individuals. Offshoring means no third-party, all of the activity stays within the same company or corporation, but maybe “moves” to another country or continent. Of course, this is only possible, when a company is extended in more countries worldwide or continent wide.
Why should any company choose offshoring? Isn’t it enough to have every unit in those countries work by themselves? Well, sometimes it can be enough, but most of the times it’s a bad strategy not to offshore. Assume a company has development centers in England, Russia and China. Normally, these countries are all different as lifestyle, culture and most important: economy. England is a mature economy country. Among other facts, it means prices are higher for everything. So that company would rather have an offshore development center in China, and try to do everything related to development in that center instead of having a separate center in England.
Having an offshore development center saves your time and money, saves your energy and ability to concentrate. How? Considering the above example, in China you could build a huge building, and have hundreds of employees working on your company’s development. That is possible since labor force is very cheap, and you can afford more with the same budget.
Time and money is essential for every single company. The more money they save, the more they can develop themselves, becoming more profitable and stable than ever. The greatest part is the ability to focus on the core of the business, no energy is lost in details.
